1

Garage Door Insulation Panels

The core dual-core foam panels that install directly onto your garage door.

1

Prep the Door Surface & Panels

Adhesive sticks best to a clean surface.

  • Brush or wipe off loose dirt, spider webs, and debris from the door.
  • Use isopropyl alcohol and a clean rag to thoroughly clean the metal surfaces where the tape will stick.
  • Wipe the edges of each panel with isopropyl alcohol where the tape will bond.
  • Dry everything completely, no moisture should remain before taping.
2

Apply the Adhesive Tape

The tape creates a secure mounting surface for each panel.

  • Starting at the top panel, apply tape along the outer edges of the door panel frame, horizontally along the top/bottom and vertically along the sides.
  • Use the included squeegee to firmly press the tape and maximize adhesion.
  • Give each panel its own adhesive border.
Tip: braces or brackets in the way? Tape right over them, or tape around them and cut the foam to fit.
3

Peel the Tape Backing

This exposes the sticky side where the panel will attach, take your time here, it's the trickiest part.

  • Use a utility knife to carefully lift a corner of the yellow backing film.
  • Peel slowly to avoid ripping the backing.
Tip: don't touch the adhesive once it's exposed.
4

Install the First Panel

  • Position the panel with the aluminum side facing the door (reflects heat/cold) and the vinyl side facing inward.
  • Align it centered horizontally, then press from the center outward.
  • Trim around rollers, locks, braces, or handles with a utility knife, and trim vertically at the panel edge to fit flush with the door frame.
  • At the bottom of each panel, trim along the horizontal door seam so it folds cleanly with door movement.
Tip: install the panel first, then trim, it gives the most accurate fit. You can also pre-measure and cut before installing if you prefer.
5

Repeat for Remaining Panels

  • Repeat steps 2–4 for each panel, top to bottom.
  • For rollers, cut a small notch. For locks or handles, slide the panel behind and trim cleanly, don't stick it down until it's positioned properly.
  • Keep panels tight against each other to minimize airflow gaps.
6

Final Press & Clean-Up

  • Press all panel edges firmly with your hands or the squeegee, paying extra attention to corners.
  • Double check for loose sections or lifting corners and press again.
  • Confirm your garage door is still properly balanced after adding the panels' weight, follow your door manufacturer's guidance, and call a professional to adjust tension if needed.
Custom doors: for manual locks or handles, small gaps around them are normal after trimming. For hurricane or wind braces, we recommend removing them before installing insulation and reinstalling after (check that this won't void your garage door warranty), or trim the panels to fit around them instead.

Window Film

For garage doors or walls with a window. Each kit includes 4× clear window film sheets (42" × 62") and 70 ft of adhesive tape, enough to seal up to four standard windows.

1

Clean the Window Surface

Thoroughly clean the entire window frame and perimeter where the tape will be applied. Remove all dust, dirt, and grease, and make sure the surface is completely dry and lint-free.

A clean surface is critical, the adhesive tape only bonds properly to a dust- and grease-free area.
2

Apply Double-Sided Tape

Apply the included double-sided tape around the entire perimeter of the window frame and press firmly for full contact.

3

Expose the Adhesive

Once the tape is fully applied, carefully peel off the paper backing. Avoid touching the adhesive with your fingers.

4

Attach the Window Film

Starting at the top corner of the window, attach the film to the exposed adhesive.

  • Leave 2–3 inches of excess film on all sides (top, bottom, and sides).
  • Lightly press the film into place as you work your way around.
  • Do not stretch the film at this stage.
5

Shrink the Film Using Heat

Set your hair dryer to the highest heat setting. Blow warm air from the top down, moving evenly across the film, keeping the dryer a few inches away from the surface. The film will gradually tighten and become clear and wrinkle-free.

Note: avoid overheating one spot for too long.
6

Trim Excess Film

Once the film is fully tightened and clear, use scissors or a razor to carefully trim excess film along the window frame, avoiding damage to the wall or frame. Take your time for a clean, professional finish.

3

Garage Door Threshold Seal Strip

An easy-to-install floor threshold that creates a tight, weather-resistant barrier to block water, dust, and debris from entering under your garage door.

Before you begin: install when temperatures are mild, adhesive performs best above 40°F / 5°C. If the seal is stiff from shipping, unroll it and warm it in the sun or indoors so it lies flat before installing.
1

Clean & Dry the Surface

Sweep the garage floor area where the seal will go. Wipe the concrete with degreaser or rubbing alcohol to remove dust and oil, then let it dry completely.

Adhesive won't stick well to dusty, wet, or oily concrete.
2

Measure the Garage Opening

Measure the width of the garage door opening (left to right) and write down the measurement.

3

Cut the Seal to Size

Dry-fit the seal across the opening to confirm it fits edge to edge, then cut it to match your measured width.

4

Position & Mark the Placement

  • Place the seal where it will be installed.
  • Align it so the garage door closes directly onto the flat side, the side marked with the thinner yellow line, with the raised ridge facing inside the garage. Close the door gently to confirm it lands flat on the seal.
  • Mark the outline on the floor with chalk or marker so you can reposition it accurately after applying adhesive.
5

Apply the Beest Bond Silicone Adhesive

  • Load the Beest Bond adhesive into a caulking gun and cut the nozzle tip at a 45° angle (start with a small opening).
  • Lift the seal and apply adhesive inside the marked outline on the concrete, in a continuous bead or zig-zag pattern along the full length.
  • Use enough adhesive to hold the full length securely, especially along the edges.
6

Install the Seal & Press Firmly

  • Carefully place the seal onto the adhesive following your outline.
  • Press down firmly along the entire length (by hand, with a roller, or by stepping carefully), with extra pressure along both edges.
  • Wipe away any excess adhesive.
After installation: keep the area dry while curing. Avoid driving over the seal for at least 24 hours (or follow your adhesive label), and let the door sit closed during curing if possible.

4

Garage Door Seal (Top & Sides)

Creates a tight perimeter seal to help keep drafts, dust, and moisture out of your garage.

What you'll need: measuring tape, scissors, cleaning cloth + rubbing alcohol (recommended), pencil/marker, a drill with a 3/32" bit for pilot holes, a step stool or ladder, and a Phillips head screwdriver or drill bit.

Included in the box: seal strips (26.25 ft for single door, 34.5 ft for double door) plus screws and screw caps (20 of each for single door, 40 of each for double door).

Pro tip: install at moderate temperatures, cold weather can reduce stickiness. Additional construction adhesive can be applied before installation for extra hold.
1

Clean the Surface

If applicable, remove any existing cracked or damaged seal. Clean the garage door frame (top and both sides) where the seal will attach, removing dust, paint flakes, and oil. Let it fully dry before sticking.

2

Measure the Top and Sides

Measure the top width of the door frame plus the left and right side heights, and mark your measurements.

3

Cut the Seal to Size

Cut the top piece to width and the two side pieces to height. For a clean corner fit, you can miter-cut the ends at 45° where the top meets the sides (optional, but looks best).

4

Dry-Fit & Mark Placement

Hold each piece in place before removing any backing. Position the seal so the flexible flap lightly contacts the garage door when closed (snug, not overly bent), then mark a light guide line for straight placement.

5

Peel, Stick & Press Firmly

Start with the top piece: peel a few inches of backing, stick it to your guideline, then continue peeling gradually while pressing along the length. Repeat for both side pieces, and press firmly for 30–60 seconds along the entire strip, with extra pressure on the edges.

6

Reinforce With Screws

  • Insert a screw cap onto each screw and screw through the adhered edge into the frame for a permanent hold.
  • Space screws about every 12 inches, with one close to each end.
  • If screws are difficult to install, pre-drill small pilot holes with a 3/32" bit to prevent the frame from splitting.
  • Push the caps onto each screw head for a clean, finished look.
Final check: close the garage door slowly and confirm the seal touches evenly along both sides and the top, there are no major gaps, and the door still opens and closes smoothly with no heavy rubbing.

Entry Door Draft Stopper

A quick add-on for sealing the bottom of entry doors against drafts.

1

Clean & Dry the Surface

Clean the bottom edge of the door where the strip will stick, removing dirt, dust, and oil or grease. Let it fully dry before applying.

2

Measure the Door Width

Measure the length of the bottom of the door and mark the measurement on the draft stopper so you know the exact size needed.

3

Cut to Size (and Warm It Up)

Cut the strip to the measured length using scissors. For the best stick, use a hair dryer to gently warm the adhesive side and/or the door surface for a few seconds (warm, not hot).

4

Apply the Strip to Your Door

  • Peel a small section of the backing first, don't remove it all at once.
  • Align the strip along the bottom edge of the door and press firmly as you go, peeling the backing off gradually.
  • Run your hand along the strip and press for 30–60 seconds to secure. If needed, warm it again lightly and press once more.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any special tools?

Most components only need household tools: scissors or a utility knife, a clean rag, isopropyl alcohol or rubbing alcohol, and a hair dryer for the window film and entry door stopper. The threshold seal needs a caulking gun for the Beest Bond adhesive, and the top & sides door seal needs a drill with a 3/32" bit if you choose to pre-drill pilot holes.

What temperature should I install in?

Moderate temperatures work best for every adhesive-based component, above 40°F / 5°C for the threshold seal, and room temperature or warmer for the top & sides seal, since cold weather can reduce stickiness.

Does my kit include every component on this page?

Not necessarily; it depends on which kit size and tier you ordered. Check your packing list, or reach out to our support team below and we can confirm exactly what shipped with your order.

How long do adhesives need to cure?

For the threshold seal, avoid driving over it for at least 24 hours (or follow the adhesive label). For the top & sides seal and window film, press firmly for 30–60 seconds during installation and avoid stressing the seal for the first day.

What if my garage door has braces, rollers, or a window?

Cut small notches around rollers, and trim panels to slide behind locks or handles. For hurricane or wind braces, you can remove them before installing and reinstall after (double check this won't void your garage door warranty), or simply trim the panels around them. If your door has a window, use the Window Film section above.
